Layered Webbing Collar Strap

1. Choose collar style tutorial and refer to chart (at bottom of page for each style), for strap length needed to make collar. Use instructions below to make collar strap, then refer back to chosen collar style instructions to construct collar. Sample collar above is Classic Dog Collar available here.
2. Layered collar shown above is 1″ wide. Choose two colors 1/2″ webbing and one color 3/4″ webbing.
3. Cut all three webbings to same length, using chart for your chosen collar.
4. Lay two 1/2″ lengths of webbing side by side and stitch together using a close zig-zag stitch.
Note: only a portion of the strap is shown in the photos.

5. Center 3/4″ webbing on top of two-color base. Straight stitch close to edges.

6. Trim ends evenly, fuse cut ends of webbing by passing the webbing several times through flame of a lit candle. Hold webbing just above the flame in the heat glow to prevent a heavily melted, charred area. Properly fused area will be a little stiff, but no longer fraying.

7. Refer back to chosen collar style instructions to construct collar.
